Hard work in the off season paid off for Byron Overstreet.
The 6-4, 240 pound guard dominated the offensive line for Patrick Henry this past season, helping the Patriots reach the Central Region, Division 5 title game against Hanover. The Hawks won 24-7.
Overstreet’s weight lifting and conditioning helped him grade out at over 80 percent for his blocking in most games.
His most crucial block came against Dinwiddie in the region semifinals when he opened a huge hole for quarterback Brandon Cash to run through for a first down and allow the Patriots to run out the clock.
A senior with an intimidating build, Overstreet is a Legend of the Fall hoping to continue his football career at the next level.
