Defensive POW – Oct. 16

Robby Daniels, Patrick Henry Patriots

Year: Senior                 Age: 18
Position: Free safety/wide receiver
Performance: Collected three interceptions in a 28-6 victory over John Marshall.
Best trait: “Just being able to read the quarterback and the routes.”
Toughest opponent: “He plays cornerback and receiver on our team, Ryan Smith. He’s quick, he’s got good speed. In practice, he runs good routes. He can get up and catch the ball.”
What you wouldn’t know:
“I’ve played soccer since I was about 3-years-old.” Daniels has played
striker and midfield on the varsity level since the ninth grade,
earning first-team all-Colonial District honors each season.
Favorite subject: “History.”
Invite any three people to dinner: “[Redskins safety] Sean Taylor, Jessica Alba and Yvonne Strahovski, co-star of NBC’s Chuck.”
Best advice: “Just listen to your coaches and do what they tell you. You make a mistake, make it full speed.”
Funniest teammate: “[Defensive end] Will Woodworth. He’s just always making jokes and doing stupid things at practice. Lightening the mood up.”
Future:
“I’m trying to see if I could play in college. I’ll try to just walk-on
in soccer or play with a club team. I’m looking for football, too.”
